Project Ibasho
Our Work
What We Do
Project Ibasho is working to create a comprehensive map of the landscape of the crisis of boys and young men to help people understand the big picture. We are also working to identify the upstream root causes of the crisis so that decision-makers can invest resources in addressing causes and not just symptoms.
What We Have Built
From a single conference to a Congressional briefing — in a little over one year, Project Ibasho has built a body of work that moves people from awareness to action.

Raising Connected Boys in a Disconnected World
A full-day conference at Cathedral School for Boys that brought together parents, educators, and nationally recognized experts. A middle school principal who attended said:
“We finally understood what was happening with our boys — and what we could do.”
Understanding What Works
Before we scale, we study. We are evaluating our conference model to understand what moved people from awareness to action.
From Age 4 to Fragile Democracy
Project Ibasho is creating a comprehensive map of the crisis of boys and young men. The initial findings — connecting the relational crisis to the health of our democracy — will be presented at UC Berkeley’s Center for Civility and Democratic Engagement on May 11.
A Briefing to Members of Congress
Congressman Ted Lieu attended our conference. He saw the work. He invited us to Washington to share our work with members of Congress.
